Progress

Weight bearing minus six days!
And today I went swimming (for the second time)!
And I drove!
And I'm off the narcs!

Nice.

  1. Hello, I have just stumbled upon your blog while googling everything I can about osteotomies. We are a military family as well, stationed at RAF Lakenheath, and my daughter is dealing with femoral and tibial problems as well. We are waiting to hear from the surgeon on the 24th whether she will need just staples in her knees or a full osteotomy on both legs. I must admit I am at a loss concerning all of this. If you are feeling up to it and wouldn't mind chatting, I'd love to talk to you sometime. Congrats on making it through your surgery and progressing so quickly. I hope your road to recovery continues on as swiftly as it has.

  2. Hi there! I'd love to chat with you and help you and your daughter however I can. I understand the confusion going into something so big. I'd also encourage you to check out www.kneeguru.co.uk and see what people have posted regarding derotational surgeries (well, any knee surgery really). The people have been invaluable for research and encouragement.

Oddly enough, I'm in your neck of the woods this week and next! Small world :) We could meet up quite easily if you'd like. You can reach me on the email address associated with this blog: wendybking@gmail.com
